Highlights from our June GameDev Mixer (SF)

Level Up Entertainment held our monthly GameDev Mixer in San Francisco on June 7th from 6pm till 10pm. As always, it was both a fun and productive night for those who attended.

Once again held at the bar and lobby of the Hotel Fusion on 140 Ellis St, with a good number of guests attending. This months event got the attention of several indie game developers, local manga writers, along with several game artists.

During the mixers; the crowd was either gathered around the two game booths that were setup, a billiard table and the bar. The crowd was for the most part spread out with the networking being done at the bar will the showcase got the attention of developers who were happy to share their feedback with the creators.

One of the most unique games featured was Infinite Loop, which is being developed by a group from The Academy of Arts. The team has featured this project at our past events and it gets better each time thanks to the guest feedback and the direction of the team. This is one title we are excited to play once it’s finished.

Those of us who ventured into San Francisco, had to face the challenge of a more intense traffic that was made possible by the Giants vs. Dodgers game taking place only 15 minutes away. While any sporting event will cause a disruption the intense rivalry between these two teams always results in a packed house at Oracle Park and a nightmare on the CalTrain.

What was really surprising about the night was also the high turn out, despite the fact SacAnime Summer and E3 were also kicking-off at the same time. Several of our guest were also planning to attend either one of these events during the weekend.

If you are in the LA area for E3 2019 then you will be happy to learn that Level Up will also be hosting a special event on June 13th. The GameDev Mixer (LA) E3 Edition will take place at District 7 DTLA located on 555 West 7th Street in Los Angeles. Level Up will host the next GameDev Mixer in San Francisco on July 5th at the Hotel Fusion.
