Become part of our gaming and geek culture journalism team! Level Up Media is an online community platform to showcase the best of Gaming, Anime, and anything Geek related fandom! If you’re very passionate as we are about the video game and entertainment industry, then chances are you’ll fit right in with us.
Before proceeding, please make a note of the following that all of our positions are voluntary.
We do however offer several really awesome opportunities and experiences such as advanced review copies, movie and TV screenings, and press events, premieres, and press access to some of the worlds biggest cons.

Current openings:
General Writing roles:
Team members will be looking to write on a variety of topics from the world of video games as well as other aspects of nerd culture such as TV, movies, comic books, board games, and more.
Team members ideally should have some knowledge of the English language as well an understanding of grammar and punctuation. Experience isn’t necessary, but it’s definitely a plus. We’re looking for someone that’s self-sufficient as well as having the ability to stick to a schedule. Most of all we’re looking for someone with personality and someone who wants to bring themselves out in their words.
As for content, we’re looking for our team to be comfortable writing 150+ word news pieces as well as much longer 1000+ word reviews, features, and interviews. We’ll be able to provide everything needed for both news and reviews, though some level of initiative will be needed to gather resources for certain pieces.
Being a part of Level Up Media comes with many benefits such as the ability to play games, read comics, and watch movies before general release. There are also opportunities to attend EGX, Gamescom, PAX, and E3, and more, as well as invitations to studios for private hands-on sessions.
All of our team have targets that they should aim for in terms of content output, this can vary from one news piece a week and one review a month, to more than that.
Reviews and Feature Writer roles:
Reviews and Feature Contributors will be required to regularly review video games, movies, TV shows, comic books, and more as well as creating interesting features around these topics. Features can include opinion pieces, how-to guides, walkthroughs, and other creative pieces.
Much like the general writing roles, a general grasp of the English language is required, as well as an understanding of grammar and punctuation. Benefits are also similar, which include review copies of video games and comic books, as well as the chance to attend screenings of movies as well as consumer events such as E3, EGX, and Gamescom, to name a few.
Because this role involves less news, we think a target of around four reviews or feature posts a month is comfortably achievable.
Community Manager
Level Up Media is seeking someone to help manage their social media and other communities (such as Discord and reddit). Applicants will need to have some familiarity with social networks and how they work, as well as how best to achieve exposure on each.
Some experience with their own channels isn’t necessary, but it’d be a plus. Applicants will be expected to be interactive with the community, create interesting, intriguing, and engaging posts, and be able to put their personality into their work.
Applicants capable of creating images for posts, whether it’s title images or memes, as well as video content for Facebook, would be a huge bonus. They’ll also work closely with our staff writers and editors as well as video producers to create content.
Streamer
Level Up Media is looking for an experienced Twitch Streamer to join our team. Streamers must have some level of experience on the platform as well as the capabilities of streaming at least 720p25fps and have a decent microphone.
Streamers should be looking to fill at least two time slots in our weekly stream schedule and will need to have the time to be able to commit to the schedule. Streams can be anything from an hour to four hours long, or even longer provided they don’t overlap into someone else’s stream time. They’ll also be given the necessary assets needed to ensure their streams are uniform with others.
Streamers must be confident and have a good personality for streaming, they must also be able to interact with our community via the chat while streaming.
Streamers will be provided with access to our Steam library so they can play some of the latest and greatest games, though being able to provide their own selection of titles is also a must.
